Thursday November 14th it's ‘Weston-super-Prayer’ (7:15 for 7:30pm) at Emmanuel Church. We meet for praise and prayer for local and national issues in a cafe style setting.
Our MP, John Penrose, will be with us for the whole evening during which we will be hearing from him about his role as Government Whip and national and the background on local issues such as crime and local planning. John will provide some pointers to guide us as to how we can pray into these subjects that have impact on all of our lives. There will also be opportunity to ask questions.
The New Testament (1 Tim 2:1) tells us that our first responsibility in prayer is intercession “especially for rulers, governments and all in authority”. This will not be a political occasion - but a deeply practical and spiritual one as we pray in unity for the welfare of our nation and local community. St Paul tells us that we have the responsibility to support and encourage those who serve us in government, and who are accountable to us.

I believe that we are in for a most illuminating evening. Please come if you can - and do tell your friends and church family's about this unique opportunity to hear first hand from our MP.
